We’re approaching November. As a matter of fact, it’s right around the corner! This year is about over. November is my favorite month after May when the flowers are waking up and showing off all of their beauty. November is a month for giving thanks.
November 3rd, we will celebrate all Saint’s Day. A day for us to reflect and to give thanks for all the saint’s that have gone before us. The ones that gather around the Lord’s table with us every Sunday as we commune with our Lord. We also remember the family members who have gone before us. (You may insert their names here if you wish) We give thanks for the joy and love that they have to us lessons taught. Thanksgiving is the 28th of this month. It’s my favorite holiday.
Grandmother’s, great-grandmother’s (if you are blessed to still have them with you), mothers, daughters, fathers, or whoever fathers to prepare this feast.
This year, let us approach Thanksgiving with open eyes, ears, and hearts. Eyes to see our family and friends that gather around this table. Eyes to see the feast. Open ears to hear the laughter and stories that circulate during the day. Some may be blessed to hear the cry of a new baby or happy tears.
Most of all, let us not forget who has blessed us beyond measure with our home, our family, our clothing, and everything that we need to sustain us here on this earth. God! The one whose love is beyond anything imaginable. Let us remember to thank Him for all of the blessings that He gives to us, each and every day of our lives.
Most of all, let us be thankful that our Heavenly Father loved us enough to sacrifice His own son for the forgiveness of our sins and eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God’s blessings to you and your family +Sue Ellen
