JUNE…Wow, half of this year 2025, is already gone! Where has the time gone? Summer will “officially” be here this month. According to the calendar anyway. The children are out of school and the high school graduates are celebrating. They are celebrating the closing of one chapter in their life, and the beginning of the next chapter. This chapter is when they begin to learn how to navigate adulthood. Some stick close by and go to work. Maybe they have already been working at a job that has been fulfilling and the pay is good enough so that they may support themself. They are still close enough to have the love and support they have had their whole life. They are comfortable and satisfied where they are. Some are preparing to move off to college. Some may be moving into a dorm, where they will not be alone. They will have the support of new friends they will make, teachers, and/or their roommates. This may be what some need. A closeness, not to feel as if they are totally alone. Whichever choice they have made, they still need the support, love, guidance and most of all prayers. Prayers that they feel and are kept safe. Prayers that they stay healthy but most of all, prayers that they do not lose sight of who they are. Prayers that they do not forget their roots. Prayers they do not forget first and foremost, they are beloved children of God. Prayers that they find a church where they feel welcome and that will nourish their relationship with the Lord. Whatever path they take, they still need our love, support and most of all, our prayers.
Let us pray, “Dear heavenly Father, as these children move on to the next chapter of their lives, we ask that you will stay by their side. To protect them and keep them healthy. We also ask that you would be with their parents siblings and other family members and friends as they navigate these new waters where their child or friend is not physically with them every day like they have been. This is life changing for all involved and we ask that you give them all your strength and guidance as they maneuver through this change. Most of all, Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunities you have provided for these promising young adults. In Jesus name. Amen.
