The Gospel for the last two Sundays has been about stewardship.
We all know that the plentiful blessings we have in our lives come from God, our heavenly Father. He loves us so much that He does indeed give many of us more than we need. We also know that there are some less fortunate. This does not mean that God loves them any less than He loves us. He gives some of us an abundance because He knows that we have compassion for others and we will give to help others. This last Sunday was a wonderful example of that!
This month, I started blessing the food and hygiene supplies that the congregants have given to share with others who are in need. Yesterday was a testament to the caring of those in need. The abundance of food that was brought in was amazing! I’m sure that those who will be receiving these goods are thankful for your generosity. The food bank is also thankful for your generosity. This is a great example of good stewardship.
I also believe that sharing the good news about the grace, peace, and mercy of God, through Jesus Christ, is also good stewardship. This blessing of the forgiveness of our sins, our salvation, and eternal life, is meant to be shared with everyone. The love of God is not just for a select few. It is meant for all. This forgiveness of our sins is the greatest gift afforded to everyone.
Stewardship, good stewardship, means the spreading of the love of Christ with all. Sharing the good news that all of this entails, is meant to be shared. So let’s share the good news to all. Jesus does love us all! The blood of our lord and Savior was spilled on that cross, for everyone. God Bless you all!
