I think we must be in the dog days of summer. Or are there more to come? Probably there are more to come. I hope and pray that everyone stays as cool as possible. I know this is a difficult thing to do when most of the workers around here are farmers and ranchers. Your job requires you to work outside regardless of the heat or the cold. Just stay hydrated. I pray daily for your protection and your health.
We are still in ordinary time for the Church year. We are reading many of the parables that Jesus taught His disciples. These parables are great learning lessons still for us today! Especially the one that is coming up. When Jesus fed the 5,000. Jesus asked for God’s blessing on the five loaves of bread and the two fish. Five loaves of bread and two fish were just simply insufficient for feeding 5,000. (My Bible, NKJV, states that there were about 5,000 men, besides the women and children, that were fed that day.) After God’s blessing on this food and Jesus’ instruction to the disciples, the five loaves and two fish became more than enough to become sufficient in feeding the crowd.
We come to God insufficient, but with Jesus, and the Holy Spirit interceding for us, we are made sufficient.
