Greetings! Summer is about over and fall is almost upon us. The next week is supposed to be extremely hot! I have heard a lot of individuals say that they are so over summer. I think we say this every summer though, don’t we? Then comes winter and if it’s a really cold one, then we will be over it and ready for spring. My mom used to tell me, “Sue Ellen, you’re wishing your life away!” Yes, I was, and yes, we do that more often than we think.
Our lives are short enough anyway without wishing for a certain period of a year to be over. I understand that the heat has been oppressive, and I can relate. Our lives were fully worked out by God, before we were even born. He knew our beginning date, and He knows our ending date. Shoot, He knows everything between those two dates. Who we will marry, how many children we will have, and how we will live our lives. We were created to carry out a special mission for Him. Our life was meant to follow Jesus, to glorify Him, and to give Him thanks for sacrificing Himself for us. God knows His plans for us. To prosper us and keep us unto Him. We were meant to be happy and to get along with others. I think for the most part we are all doing that! When we hit those rough hot days, remember they will be over soon enough. We can’t wish them to be gone! Stay cool, my friends. This will be over soon.
